A Coralville convenience store employee faces charges that he stole over $700 from his register.

23-year-old MacArthur Young of the Pheasant Ridge Apartments in Iowa City was employed by Kum & Go on Hayden Fry Way during the fall of 2019 when the alleged thefts occurred. Coralville Police say Young rang in returns to the cash register, then pocketed the money that had theoretically been returned.

Young allegedly made four separate fraudulent transactions worth a total of $722.54. He’s charged with 4th Degree Theft, a Serious Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of one year in jail.
