An Iowa City woman who originally got a suspended sentence on 3rd degree Burglary charges in 2018 has been arrested after violating her probation and failing to turn herself in to begin a jail sentence.
37-year-old Conny Ann Stucker was allegedly one of three suspects who used a grinding wheel to cut locks off of storage units at Scott Six Storage on Commerce Drive in Iowa City the morning of September 1st 2018. The suspects fled on foot after police arrived, but left their truck behind. Stucker was identified by multiple sources as being a part of the burglary. She was sentenced to five years by a District Court judge in December of that year for 3rd Degree Burglary, but suspended the sentence and ordered her to serve three years probation. Five other Burglary charges were dismissed.
Over the period since, Stucker has violated her probation on more than two occasions. In May of this year, Judge Andrew Chappell ordered Stucker to surrender to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department to begin a 120 day sentence for contempt no later than August 1st. Court records indicate that she didn’t turn herself in by then, and failed to report and maintain contact with her probation officer.
A warrant for Stucker’s arrest was granted September 2nd, and she was booked into the Johnson County Jail Monday at 1:41 am. She’s now due to be released once the sentence is completed in January.
