Crews from Lone Tree Fire and Rescue and surrounding agencies were able to successfully prevent a garage fire from spreading to a nearby residence.

According to a post on their Facebook page, crews were called out in the early morning hours Thursday for a garage fire within Lone Tree city limits. They arrived to find a garage fully engulfed in flames with a potential spread to nearby residential structures.

As crews were knocking down the garage fire, a nearby residence caught fire. That blaze was quickly extinguished, with the residents able to get out safely.

The garage was a total loss. Fire crews from Hills, Riverside and Nichols assisted during the incident. They were supported by Johnson County Ambulance, the Sheriff’s Office, and Alliant Energy.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
