Multiple agencies responded to a house fire in Riverside Thursday afternoon.
According to the Riverside Fire Department Facebook page, crews were called to a structure fire at an address on 3rd Street just after 4:15pm. A short time later they were joined by firefighters from Kalona, Hills, and Ainsworth. The crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor of a residence.
The fire was quickly brought under control. No people were found inside, but a dog was saved from the structure.
Crews operated on-scene for two hours conducting overhaul and putting out hotspots. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No civilians or firefighters where injured.
