Iowa City Police say a man intentionally hit a woman with his car, then fled the scene.

According to arrest records, 21-year-old Ethan Wood-Finley of 1st Avenue in Iowa City was involved in an argument with a woman in the parking lot of 521 South Johnson Street just before 6:45 Monday night. Wood-Finley then allegedly got into his 2007 Chevy Impala, stepped on the accelerator and rammed into the woman’s car. He then reportedly struck the woman with his vehicle, throwing her into a metal railing before she fell to the ground. Wood-Finley then reportedly sped away from the area without checking on the woman’s well-being.

The alleged victim was able to give police Wood-Finley’s license plate information. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 11:00 Monday night and charged with Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of three years in jail.
