The Mississippi Valley Conference and Central Iowa Metro League are joining forces to put together a pair of crossover boys basketball events.
The Servpro MVC-CIML Showdown will be held January 6th, 2024 at the Alliant Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids. A second event will be held January 27th somewhere to be determined in the Des Moines area. Local teams competing in the Cedar Rapids event include West High, Liberty and Cedar Rapids Prairie. 16 teams will compete in eight games that day, including seven from the CIML, seven from the MVC, as well as three teams from the Mississippi Athletic and Iowa Alliance conferences, including Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley and Ames.
The matchups will be set by the 4A rankings committee in an attempt to keep the games as competitive as possible.
