A police drone and K9 were deployed late Sunday night and early Monday morning in southeast Iowa City.
KCJJ’s Tommy Lang reports approximately a half-dozen Iowa City Police cruisers and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office vehicles were dispatched to the Sycamore Apartments on Kountry Lane just before midnight. A short time later, an ambulance left the scene with one patient inside.
About 20 minutes after the ambulance left the scene, a drone was deployed over the area between the Sycamore Apartments and the Iowa City Kickers Soccer Park. A police K9 and multiple officers began searching the Sycamore Trail. One officer told KCJJ they were searching for a burglary suspect.
All law enforcement entities had left the scene by 1:30am.
