An Iowa City man placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant faces additional charges after allegedly being found with street drugs.

Police made contact with 20-year-old Precieux Nzoni of Broadway Street at a residence in the Western Hills Manufactured Housing Community Saturday morning.  He was wanted for failing to appear at his initial hearing on 5th degree theft charges December 15th.

Nzoni was placed under arrest and searched.  Officers located 2 ½ blue pills marked to resemble Oxycodone Hydrochloride, but past history of the appearance and packaging made police believe them to be pressed Fentanyl pills, a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance.

Nzoni also reportedly had over $900 in cash on him; three of the dollar bills were allegedly rolled up tightly and had burnt residue on each end.

Nzoni was charged with a Class D Controlled Substance violation, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He could be sentenced to up to over six years in prison if convicted on all counts.
