Iowa City man accused of using victims’ banking information to pay over $50,000 in bills

Allegedly using other people’s banking information to pay tens of thousands of dollars in bills has led to an Iowa City man’s arrest.
Iowa City Police say between October 23rd of last year and January 19th of this year 40-year-old Obed Dominguez Lugo of Beach View Drive in the Lake Ridge manufactured housing community used other subjects’ banking information to pay his own bills. The total amount missing from the various accounts was $52,891.43.
Dominguez  Lugo is charged with 1st Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
