An Illinois man is accused of head-butting a Coralville Police officer, then threatening to bite other officers’ genitalia.
Officers were called to the bar at the Hyatt Regency on the Iowa River Landing just after 12:30 Sunday morning for a disruptive, intoxicated subject causing issues.  As the suspect, 45-year-old Peter Conneely of Chicago, was being taken into custody he allegedly head-butted an officer, causing a bloody nose. He then reportedly began threatening to assault other officers, with arrest records indicating he even threatened to bite them in what was described as their “private areas”.
Conneely is charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations Causing Bodily Injury, 2nd Degree Harassment, Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, and Interference With Official Acts. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over three years in jail.
