More snow in Eastern Iowa forecast

If you didn’t get enough snow early Wednesday morning, more could be on the way soon.

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities says on Thursday a narrow band of light snow is forecast to develop over parts of Eastern Iowa, which may give some areas up to one inch of accumulation. The narrow band of snow will develop in the afternoon and evening hours, resulting in possible travel impacts.

Currently, the snow band is looking to set up near the Highway 34 corridor, south of the Iowa City area.

A more potent system is forecast to impact the area Friday into Saturday, bringing a widespread wintry mix. Snow accumulation will be possible with that system…especially to the north…as well as light ice accumulation.
