A Coralville man is accused of assaulting and threatening his domestic partner.
Johnson County deputies were called to an address on Center Street in Oxford just after 3:15 Saturday morning. Witnesses say 32-year-old David Chomycia of 14th Avenue assaulted a woman with whom he has resided and been in a domestic relationship for the last year. Arrest records indicate at one point, he threatened to kill the woman.
Investigators say during the altercation, Chomycia threw the woman’s phone to the ground, causing it to break. The phone is valued at $1,500.
Chomycia pleaded guilty to charges of Domestic Abuse Assault and 1st Degree Harassment and was sentenced to two days in jail.
