One of two suspects in an Iowa City home invasion case last spring has been given a fine.

According to arrest records, 41-year-old Walter Oliver entered a residence on Taylor Drive just after 8:45 on the night of May 17th. He displayed a gun, demanded money, and threatened to shoot one of the residents.

A search warrant was executed on Oliver’s residence down the street. A police pat-down of the people inside turned up a black bag in the possession of Oliver’s brother, 29-year-old Deeshawn Oliver of Regal Lane. Two handguns were found inside.  Police say Deeshawn Oliver admitted to attempting to hide the two guns for his brother in order to cover up his brother’s involvement in the home invasion.
