Iowa City Police have arrested a man they say tried to force his way into a residence.
47-year-old Todd White of the Modern Manor manufactured housing community was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 12:15 Saturday morning. Police say just before 9:00 Friday night White tried to force his way into a residence on 3rd Avenue. Arriving officers say they found White pacing on the deck. He allegedly cursed at police, who say they found damage to the door indicating an attempt at forced entry.
White reportedly refused to speak to the officers, instead balling up his fists and taking a fighting stance. That’s when he was tasered by police.
The homeowner reported that White was not welcome at their residence.
White is charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief and Interference With Official Acts. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
