A probationer has been arrested after police say she would not let them conduct a home visit.
A High Risk Unit officer arrived at the South Dodge Street apartment of 42-year-old Kimberly Mobley at about 1:30 on the afternoon of March 5th. Mobley allegedly refused to let the officer inside. When told that would be a violation of her probation, she reportedly closed her front door, locked it, and yelled profanities at the officer, including, “Get the f— away from my door, bitch!”
Mobley was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 6:15 Friday night and charged with Interference With a Corrections Official. If convicted, she faces a maximum of one year in jail.
Mobley is on probation after a search warrant executed at the same apartment in 2022 turned up a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver. Mobley has felony convictions out of Illinois from 2004 and North Carolina from 2014, making her ineligible to possess a firearm.
The search warrant was part of an investigation into charges that Mobley threatened staff at Longfellow Elementary School…which her daughter attended…and that she yelled racial epithets at students in a City High parking lot and encouraged her son to fight them once they were inside the school. One student suffered a concussion after they were attacked by the son a short time later.
