An Iowa City man accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old could spend up to a decade in prison.
Judge Elizabeth Dupuich sentenced 18-year-old Luis Borjas Flores to ten years in prison earlier this week after he pleaded guilty to a charge of Lascivious Acts with a Child, A 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse charge was dismissed in a plea deal with prosecutors.
Borjas Flores was charged as an adult despite being 17 at the time of the incident.
Prosecutors say Borjas Flores engaged in sex acts with the victim in March of 2024.
