The Iowa State Patrol has identified the person who was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night on Interstate 80 near Williamsburg.
The State Patrol says 76-year-old Roger Evans of Victor was crossing the westbound lanes of the interstate on foot just west of the Williamsburg exit at about 6:00 when he was struck. Investigators say Evans was trying to pick up items that had blown out of his vehicle.
Evans was struck by a 2012 Buick Lacrosse being driven by 47-year-old Alysia West of Millersburg. Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.
