A conservative student group at the University of Iowa says one of its banners promoting an upcoming speaker was recently stolen, but it has since been recovered.

The UI chapter of Young Americans for Freedom says in a news release that the banner was stolen from the fence around Hubbard Park sometime on Thursday. The banner was promoting Monday’s appearance at the Iowa Memorial Union by Seth Dillon, CEO of The Babylon Bee, for a campus lecture titled “The Sting of Censorship,” which Dillon says will “explore the intersection of humor, free speech, and cancel culture.”

According to UI Police, the banner was found in a backpack and has since been recovered and reinstalled.

Monday night’s lecture will start at 7:00 in the IMU’s Black Box Theater.
