An Iowa City man was arrested on a warrant stemming from an alleged assault in downtown Iowa City last week.
Police say 33-year-old Daniel Wolfe of South Gilbert Court got into a verbal altercation with the victim at a bar on Washington Street at approximately 1am Saturday. Wolfe then allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and began punching them in the face and kicking them in the stomach. The victim reportedly didn’t retaliate, and was in a defensive position the entire time.
The victim suffered numerous abrasions and scratches as a result of the incident.
A warrant was issued for Wolfe’s arrest, and he was taken into custody late Thursday morning. He’s been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.
