An Iowa City woman was arrested early Saturday after an alleged knife attack on a man.
The incident occurred at the Sunrise Village manufactured housing facility on South Scott Boulevard. Officers were called to the residence of 28-year-old Lucy Lopez Corea regarding a fight involving a knife. Upon arrival, the victim told police that he was involved in an argument with Lopez Corea that turned physical.
The woman allegedly grabbed two knives and slashed the man in the abdomen multiple times, leaving several wounds.
Lopez Corea was taken into custody and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to two years if convicted. A no-contact order between the parties was requested.
