Recent heavy rain along the Iowa River basin has led to an increase in water outflow at Coralville Lake.
A post on the official Coralville Lake Facebook page indicates the outflow was increased from 3700 cfs to 4200 cfs Friday morning. The post includes audio of a siren that sounds when outflow is increased to warn those fishing or participating in other activities along the Iowa River in the Tailwater West and Tailwater East areas of rapidly rising waters.
The outflow was increased after recent heavy rains and flood warnings upstream from Coralville Lake.
