A transient is accused of throwing a log through windows of an Iowa City residence.
Iowa City Police say 44-year-old Robert Williams received an alert on his phone late Thursday night telling him his cousin was stealing money from him via email. Williams allegedly walked from downtown Iowa City to Wayne Avenue, where police say just before 12:15 Friday morning he grabbed a log and threw it through multiple windows at a residence on the 2700 block.
Investigators say Williams later admitted to breaking the windows, which cost an estimated $450 to repair.
Williams is charged with 4th Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
