A North English man was taken into custody Saturday afternoon after allegedly taking his girlfriend’s vehicle without her consent.

49-year-old Jeremy Zacharias of North Boland Avenue was found just before 6pm on 140th Street in Solon with a 2017 Ford Escape that had run out of gas.  The girlfriend did not give consent for him to take the vehicle, and reported it stolen to the Williamsburg Police Department.

A check of Zacharias’ driving status showed that he had no valid driver’s license due to his status as a habitual offender.

He faces a number of charges, including 2nd degree Theft, Operating a Vehicle without Owner Consent, Driving while Barred, Driving while Revoked, and Driving while under Suspension. If convicted on all counts, he faces a prison term of up to ten years.
