IMCC inmate convicted of enticing a minor dies at UIHC

An inmate at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center who was convicted of enticing a minor has died in custody.

The Iowa Department of Corrections says 70-year-old Melvin Lester Walker was pronounced dead at 9:45 Monday morning at the UIHC. Walker had been serving a two-year term for Enticing a Minor Under the Age of 16 for Sexual Purposes from Des Moines County. His sentence began on March 3rd of this year.
