An Coralville area transient who wanted to hold onto a counterfeit bill when arrested on a separate charge now faces a forgery felony.

35-year-old Jared Turner of the 300 block of the Coralville Strip was in possession of a $50 bill when he was located on the 300 block of the Coralville Strip the afternoon of March 16th.  He reportedly requested to keep the bill on his person so that he would have it when he got out.

The bill was seized by police when undergoing a search, and Turner then stated the bill was fake and he found it in a dumpster.

A warrant was issued on March 21st; Turner was arrested April 26th and charged with Forgery, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term up to five years if convicted.

He was released pending arraignment on April 28th.
