West Liberty’s former Water and Sewer Superintendent, arrested on sexual abuse charges, has pleaded guilty.

39-year-old Daniel Goodale was arrested last July for an incident that occurred outside City operations.  The charge originally listed on Iowa Courts is 2nd degree Sexual abuse, and the criminal complaint identifies the victim as a child. Goodale was eventually charged with five counts of 2nd degree Sexual abuse and two related Class D felonies.

He pleaded not guilty on August 16th.

Pretrial conferences were continued three times before a plea deal was reached. KCRG TV reports Goodale pleaded guilty  Tuesday to three counts of 2nd degree sexual abuse and to the two Class D felonies.

He could be sentenced to up to 85 years in prison when he’s sentenced on July 25th.
