A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested for felony drunk driving and allegedly fighting with Johnson County deputies after running out of gas on Interstate 380 Saturday night.

Arrest records indicate a 2012 Chevy Traverse being driven by 37-year-old Joseph Zlatohlavek of Norma Street SW ran out of gas between the two North Liberty exits on I-380 northbound just after 6:00. Responding deputies say he showed signs of intoxication and performed poorly on field sobriety tests, but his breath alcohol level was measured at .000%.

Zlatohlavek reportedly physically resisted being taken into custody and had to be forced into the patrol car. He refused to provide a urine sample for further testing.

Zlatohlavek is charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 3rd or Subsequent Offense and Interference With Official Acts. If convicted on the OWI charge, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
