An Iowa City woman with a lengthy record of thefts and attempted thefts returned to the scene of a recent incident to allegedly steal again.
Police say 32-year-old Porscha Curry was at the CVS store on Muscatine Avenue April 26th at approximately 5:50pm after previously being trespassed. She allegedly took property valued at under $750 from the store without making any attempt to pay for it.
She returned to the same location Sunday morning at approximately 9:35am. According to police, Curry was observed on video placing three bottles of alcohol into a bag before exiting past all points of sale, setting off the anti-theft alarms.
A witness on scene who knew Curry from past interactions at the store tried to confront her but she fled the scene.
Curry was taken into custody and released on her own recognizance Monday pending arraignment. She could be sentenced to up to two years in jail if convicted on a 3rd degree Theft charge.
