A Coralville man was arrested in Cedar County on Monday after allegedly stealing an SUV.

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon in Lone Tree. According to police, 31-year-old Michael Vogel of Holiday Road was at Krueger Auto on Wapsi Avenue when he broke the driver’s side window of a 2008 Lincoln Navigator. He reportedly located the ignition key inside and drove away with the vehicle.

Vogel was reportedly located the following morning in Cedar County with the vehicle. He was allegedly wearing the same clothing and hat he had on when surveillance video captured him stealing the vehicle. Vogel also had a tattoo that matched the one captured on video.

The dealership reportedly said Vogel had no rights to the Navigator and was not given permission to drive the vehicle.

He was taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree Theft, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
