A Shelter House resident has been arrested after allegedly soliciting a minor for sex outside the facility.

According to the arrest report, 57-year-old Ronald Snipes approached a ten-year-old girl just outside the main entrance to the Southgate Avenue facility.  A witness was painting the girl’s fingernails and was present when Snipes asked the girl what her panty size was. He allegedly asked her, “Can I see you in it?” and “Have you ever had sex before?” before telling her, “Let’s go eff.”

The girl reportedly ran away to her mother crying.  The witness observed the entire interaction and heard the alleged statements from Snipes.

He was taken into custody and charged with Enticing A Minor for Sexual Exploitation and Grooming. If convicted on both counts, Snipes could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
