An Iowa City man accused of recording sex acts with minors has been handed down a series of sentences that will keep him in prison for up to four years.
An Iowa City Police detective executed a search warrant on 20-year-old Jonathan Kiasosa’s phone in June of last year related to an investigation on reports he was making pornographic videos with minors. Two videos were found allegedly showing him engaged in a sex act with a 15-year-old girl at S.T. Morrison Park in Coralville. The video reportedly shows Kiasosa clearly holding his cellphone recording the act.
Kiasosa also allegedly recorded himself performing sex acts on minors at his Indigo Drive residence and at Chadek Green Park on Friendship Street. He also reportedly distributed the video to others.
Kiasosa was initially charged with four counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor Involving a Sex Act, five counts of Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor , and one count of 1st Degree Harassment. If convicted on all charges, he would have faced a maximum of 63 years in prison.
Earlier this week, Judge Michael Harris handed down one two-year sentence and two one-year sentences on two counts of Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor and one count of Invasion of Privacy. All three of the terms will be served consecutively.
