A Riverside sex offender is back behind bars after more felony sexual misconduct charges were filed against him.
Washington County dispatch records indicate 51-year-old Jason Bex of Highway 22 was arrested Friday afternoon in Conesville. Bex was wanted on five counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse Involving a Child, four counts of Lascivious Acts With A Child, and five other felony sexual abuse charges.
The Iowa Sex Offender Registry indicates Bex was convicted on four counts of Assault With Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse in Washington County in 2018. One girl was between six and eight years old, and the other three were between 14 and 17 years of age. Bex was sentenced to nine years in prison.
Bex has since been transferred to the Washington County Jail. If convicted on the new charges against him, Bex would face a maximum sentence of 170 years in prison.
