A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Monday after an alleged burglary of an Iowa City apartment.
23-year-old Trayvon Stacy of Edgewood Road NE was reportedly at the Town and Campus Apartments on Arthur Street during the 1am hour May 22nd, and entered an occupied residence. While the victim was asleep, Stacy allegedly made off with a Playstation 5, two controllers, and an IPhone.
The victim stated that the items were in his apartment when he went to bed but were missing when he woke up. Surveillance video reportedly caught Stacy entering the apartment, and leaving with a backpack full of items.
A warrant was issued on May 23rd; Stacy was taken into custody Monday and charged with 2nd degree burglary, a Class C felony punishable by a prison term of up to ten years if convicted.
He was released to the Department of Correctional Services on Tuesday; arraignment will be set at a later date. A no-contact order was also issued by Judge Jason Burns.
