West Branch man convicted of a sex offender crime charged after allegedly violating no contact order

A West Branch man who is required to meet terms of the Sex Offender Registry was charged with a violation, and with violating a no-contact order.

45-year-old Richard Lund is required to register all internet identifiers with the Sheriff’s office.  He reportedly registered a couple of accounts, but failed to register his account with Tik Tok.

Lund is also accused of attempting to contact the subject of a no-contact order on three different occasions. On June 2nd, he messaged the victim’s friend and requested that they tell her “thanks a lot for the child support.” On June 5th, he allegedly messaged the victim’s friend again, requesting that she ask the victim if he could call her later that night. He also reportedly posted a like on one of the victim’s Tik Tok videos.

Lund was charged with a second offense Sex Offender Registration Violation and three counts of Contempt for violating the no-contact order. He faces five years in prison if convicted on the registration violation.
