A transient is accused of using graffiti to target a downtown Iowa City business.

A caller from an unidentified Iowa City business on the 10 block of South Dubuque Street reports 37-year-old Elizabeth Sourivong defaced the sidewalk in front of their store at about 9:45 on the night of June 4th by using a thick marker to write disparaging remarks about two people associated with the business. Sourivong had previously been banned from the store.

Part of the message read, “This is city property, I’m not banned from the city. Catch me if you can!”

Sourivong was caught, and the incident was captured on video.

Sourivong now faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail on a 4th Degree Criminal Mischief charge, if convicted.
