The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about unlicensed solicitors operating in the area.

According to a post on the official Cedar County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the office has received multiple complaints this week regarding door-to-door sales, specifically involving a group offering chip seal paving services. The vehicle bears the name “County Paving,” and its occupants have not obtained the required solicitation permit to operate in Cedar County.

The sheriff’s office reminds residents that any business or individual going door-to-door to sell products or services must have a valid permit issued by the county. They say if you are approached by someone soliciting without a permit, do not engage. Instead, report it immediately to the sheriff’s Office at 563-886-2121.
