Three more cases of measles have been found in Johnson County.

A news release from Johnson County Public Health says the three cases are the result of household contact with an infected child who contacted the disease while traveling internationally.

The cases involve a boy and girl aged 17 or younger, and a woman between the ages of 18 and 40.

That brings the number of cases in Iowa to six. The other two cases involved an unvaccinated woman from the central part of the state, and a vaccinated man from Eastern Iowa. Both came down with measles while traveling.

The multi-state outbreak began in Texas in January. Most of those infected had not been vaccinated against measles.
