Just days after hiring a new head coach and general manager, the Iowa Heartlanders have made an offseason move.
The team sent defenseman Chris Lipe (rhymes with “hype”) to Savannah on Friday to complete an earlier futures trade made on February 5th. That deal sent forward Keltie-Jeri Leon (like Lyon, France) from the Ghost Pirates to the Heartlanders.
The move is the first for Iowa since two-time ECHL champion and former ECHL coach of the year Chuck Weber was named the new Heartlanders coach and GM.
