One person is dead and another has been injured in a Friday night shooting along Interstate 80 in Iowa County.
The Iowa DOT issued a statement just after 9:00 Friday night indicating the I-80 westbound on-ramp to Highway 151 near the Amanas was blocked by emergency vehicles. Scanner traffic indicated a shooting, with University of Iowa AirCare being dispatched to the scene before being cancelled in favor of a ground ambulance.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office now confirms one person was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting.
More details, including the names of the victims, are expected to be released on Monday.
