A Coralville man faces prison time after he allegedly violated the terms of his sex offender registry.
Police say 46-year-old Richard Lund of Holiday Road is required to register internet identifiers, including social media accounts, as part of his compliance with the Sex Offender Registry. He reportedly has only registered his email address, Facebook and SnapChat accounts.
A warrant was obtained for a search of Lund’s IPhone, showing use of Chaturbate, a pornographic website providing live-streamed webcam performances by webcam models, typically featuring nudity and sexual activity. Users are able to interact via message using tokens as payment.
Phone data allegedly showed Lund using the site May 7th, 11th, and 23rd; He also reportedly accessed the site twice on June 9th, and again on the 18th.
Each of the violations is a Class D Felony, meaning Lund could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
