Iowa House Speaker Pat Grassley has put rumors of his potential run for governor as he announced he’s running for reelection to his House seat in 2026.
Grassley had been considering a run for the state’s top office since Governor Kim Reynolds announced she would not seek another term in office in April.
Grassley made the announcement in a newsletter released on Friday.
He has been in the Iowa House since 2006 and served as House Speaker since 2020. The House now has 67 Republicans, the party’s first supermajority in over 50 years.
