The Creighton University Mid-America Business Conditions Index, a leading economic indicator for a nine-state region including Iowa, stayed above the 50.0 growth neutral threshold for a sixth straight month.
The index hit 50.7 in June, down from 51.0 in May.
Ernie Goss, who oversees the survey, said job losses, with accompanying higher wholesale inflation and rising tariffs have the economy from making significant gains. Supply managers surveyed predict that input prices will climb by 7 and a half percent this year.
Iowa remains below growth neutral, falling from 49.9 in May to 48 in June. Minnesota had the best score, at 52.8. Other states surveyed include Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, the Dakotas, and Oklahoma.
