An Iowa City man was arrested after allegedly rolling a marijuana cigarette in plain view of a patrolling police officer.
The officer was on foot patrol at Town and Campus Apartments on Arthur Street Tuesday afternoon when he came upon 35-year-old William Williams of Muscatine Avenue, who was allegedly trying to roll a joint, with marijuana in plain view on his lap.
A search subsequent to Williams’ arrest reportedly turned up more marijuana in a package that was also on his lap.
Williams was charged with a second offense controlled substance violation, an aggravated misdemeanor.
