The Coralville Fire Department will be conducting helicopter landing zone training on Saturday afternoon, weather permitting.
Residents near S.T. Morrison Park can expect to see an AirCare emergency helicopter flying in the area and landing in the park at approximately 2:00 pm, with first responders from the Coralville Fire Department and other area agencies present for the training as part of a coordinated team effort.
The public is asked to remain clear while training is conducted and stay at least 200 feet outside the landing zone. For more information, contact the Coralville Fire Department at 319.248.1835.
Coralville fire officials say the helicopter landing zone training will give first responders hands-on experience to establish and manage a landing zone for a live helicopter in an emergency situation.
