An Iowa City woman was arrested after an investigation determined she was in possession of a large quantity of drugs.
Police executed a search warrant at the home of 37-year-old Catherine Claybon of Cross Park Avenue the morning of January 27th. During the search, officers reportedly located approximately 18 grams of cocaine, over 80 grams of marijuana in various packaging, and a gram of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Claybon was using the home for the storing and/or selling illegally possessed controlled substances.
After the substances were confirmed to be illegal, a warrant for Claybon’s arrest was issued April 29th. She was served on Tuesday and was charged with marijuana possession, a Class D controlled substance violation, methamphetamine possession, failure to affix drug stamp, and keeping premises for controlled substances. If convicted on all counts, Claybon could be sentenced to up to 14 years in prison.
