US Senator Joni Ernst led Democrat and Republican challengers in fundraising in the second quarter, according to Election Commission documents.
The Des Moines Register reports Ernst, who has not formally announced she is seeking reelection in 2026, brought in $723,000 in the second quarter, which covered April, May and June. That’s roughly a third less than the nearly $1.1 million she raised in the first quarter of the year. She also has $3.4 million in cash on hand, substantially more than the one Republican, three Democrats, and one Libertarian who are running for her seat.
In the House, US Rep Mariannette Miller-Meeks has more than $2 million after raising $1.3 million in the second quarter. She only won by 800 votes in 2024 and is a targeted race by Democrats. University of Iowa law professor Christina Bohannan is running a third time to unseat Miller-Meeks; she currently has over $819,000 in cash on hand.
