This year’s hay bale toss at Solon Beef Days has a repeat winner.
Hawkeye offensive lineman Kade Pieper won the annual contest Friday night with a throw of 13 feet. That improved upon last year’s effort, when Pieper won by clearing 12 feet.
Pieper joins fellow Hawkeye offensive lineman Gennings Dunker as the only hay bale toss participants to win two years in a row. Dunker won the competition in 2022 and 2023.
