An Iowa City woman’ car was sideswiped in a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Linn County.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office reports 30-year-old Jesse Wolfe of Manchester was heading eastbound on Highway 30 shortly after 3pm at a high rate of speed in a Ford Fusion when he attempted to split two other eastbound vehicles.
He sideswiped a Ford Escape driven by 20-year-old Natalie Schott of Iowa City and a Chevy Sonic driven by 56-year-old Kristina Kies of Cedar Rapids.
Shott’s vehicle pulled onto the shoulder, but Wolfe and Kies crossed the median resulting in a crash with westbound traffic. Wolfe’s vehicle went in a ditch and through a fence before coming to rest in front of a creek.
Wolfe and Kies were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Schott was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
