The City of West Liberty has reported a social media account that had been falsely claiming to be the official account of the city’s public pool.
A Friday news release says West Liberty city officials were recently informed of the creation of a TikTok account under the name “Kimberly Park Swimming Pool”. The account was not authorized, endorsed or administered by the city, and city officials say its contents did not “reflect the values or safety protocols maintained by the City of West Liberty.”
Following the notification, the person responsible for the account closed it voluntarily.
West Liberty officials say for verified updates and information about city services and facilities, always refer to the city’s official communication channels.
