An Iowa City woman was found with meth out in the open over the weekend and subsequently arrested.
A police officer reports he was conducting extra patrol around Shelter House Saturday just before 5:30pm when he observed 46-year-old Lashena Robinson sitting near a tent with a small plastic bag in her hand that contained a white, rocky substance. Upon closer observation, the substance was identified as methamphetamine.
Robinson was handcuffed, and a post-arrest search reportedly turned up marijuana and a pipe used to smoke the substance. Her criminal history showed multiple controlled substance convictions.
Robinson was charged with two counts of 3rd or subsequent Controlled Substance violation and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all charges, Robinson faces a prison sentence of up to over ten years.
